WHAT IS REIKI?
Reiki is a Japanese therapeutic technique for relaxation and stress reduction that aids in the body's natural ability to heal itself. Life force energy, commonly referred to as chi, ki or prana, flows through pathways in and around the bodies of all living things. When stress and trauma of daily life inhibit the flow of this energy, the energy can become stagnant or blocked. If not treated, emotional, mental and physical symptoms may occur. Reiki works to help restore the energy flow to its ideal state, supporting the body’s natural healing process. This can address issues that affect the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels. It encourages overall well-being and balance. Studies have shown that when a person receives Reiki, the energy shifts their nervous system from the sympathetic (fight or flight mode) to the parasympathetic (rest, digest and restore mode) While in the parasympathetic mode the body is able to fully rest and relax. This is paramount to our health by helping the body with cellular repair and restoration.​
